Epiderme minéral
If photography halts at the surface reflection of the skin, radiology was precisely designed to penetrate the corporeal envelope—a boundary crystallizing the frontier between two worlds. The Dichroic collection serves as a metaphor for the process of creating my radiological images, where it becomes essential to transcend the skin's surface to observe the internal organs of the human body. This concept also extends to objects and inanimate bodies. This glass, with its distinctive properties, acts as a mineral epidermis, reintroducing optical attributes into my digital work and creating a sense of distance from the subjects, which regain their original anatomical context (within the body). It offers a complex glimpse of the subjects, which transform depending on the viewer's angle of incidence and the lighting conditions. A symbol of life, the heart is the organ the artist has studied most extensively using a specific cardiac MRI sequence that enables precise visualization of cardiac flow. Through figurative and abstract works, the artist connects three different ways of creating a bodily image: radiological, photographic, and computational (AI). The Conception series (2022), comprising three radiological works illustrating a heart, a female silhouette, and a fetus, forms the creative foundation for the subsequent series. Several radiological creations are presented; some are figurative, approaching photography, while others are abstract, following their own path. In parallel, a photographic exploration of the concept of flow has been developed. To further connect these two worlds, photographs of flows (laminar and light) will be presented through a mineral prism. Radiology and photography resonate together under the concept of the mineral epidermis. AI is increasingly occupying a place in the creation of digital artworks. On the photographic side, it excels thanks to extensive training. On the radiological side, it can interpret radiological images but struggles to create them. One of the exhibition's works is a dreamlike representation of Adam and Eve, generated by AI.
